Micro-macro is the first exhibition to bring together the work of two acclaimed New-York based painters, Andrew Sendor and Ali Banisadr. This seemingly unexpected pairing - juxtaposing small-scale, photo-realistic paintings by Sendor, with large-scale, predominately abstract paintings by Banisadr - explores the natural kinship found in the work of these two 'pure painters'. Despite their obvious stylistic difference, common to both is the painterly process, as well as influences, ideas, and themes fundamental to both bodies of work - the constructed narrative; the imagination; the theatrical; and the history of art.
